For the 11th straight year, the North Avenue Business Association (NABA) is honoring local high school graduates with the NABA Business Scholarship. The North Avenue Business Association awards one $1,000 scholarship to local high school seniors entering college as a business major. This year’s application deadline is April 7, 2017.

“College costs are high and getting higher all the time and the North Avenue Business Association feels it is very important to help  our future business leaders right here in our area fulfill their dreams of going to college and getting their business degree.” states Lee Owens NABA President. “NABA isn’t about developing just good local business leaders but also and even even more important “Good Community Leaders” who can help the  North Avenue Business District and surrounding communities.”

Eligible students must complete an application and essay, and reside in the North Avenue Business District which includes the Village of Oak Park and River Forest as well as in the City of Chicago neighborhoods of Galewood and parts of Austin. Chicago resident borders are Armitage/Railroad Tracks (2000 North) to the north, Division (1200 North) to the south, Austin Boulevard (6000 West) to the east and Harlem (7200 West) to the west.

The deadline for applications is April 7, 2017. One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded by the North Avenue Business Association in mid- April 2017. Oak Park River Forest High School Seniors Kiley Nelson and Erik Arsovski were named winners of the 2014 North Avenue Business Association Scholarship. Kiley is attending the University of Illinois Business School. Erik is attending New York University.
